Description: This is a project I did on bushfire safety and prevention while studying abroad in Australia. While in use it’s a huge life-saving reservoir for water to fight bush fires. However, when not in use it will roll to the size of a sleeping bag.
Role: Design and sketches.
This is an extra water source meant to be prepared in advance during a bush fire threat. In the event that the fire does reach the home this water reserve can be used with a common Davey pump
to wet down property and to put out small spot fires.
Advancements
- Utilizes nearly 100% of water supply.
- Usable on non-level ground and surfaces.
(Best when WaterSoK is elevated above pump.)
- Not effected by evaporation.
- Fire resistant canvas bonded to water tight vinyl.
- Unaffected by mildew.
- Puncture resistant.
Use benefits
WaterSoK can be hooked to a Davey pump with a Stortz connector accommodating male (25mm) or female (38m) fittings. The pump may then be used with either a garden hose or a regulation fire hose.
